SUMMARY:2026 General Assembly
DESCRIPTION:The whole church throughout the United States and Canada\, is invited to attend General Assembly 2026. Ephesians 3:14-21 invites the Stone-Campbell tradition of today and tomorrow to be rooted and grounded in the love of God that surpasses knowledge and barriers to build fuller relationships and ministries led by the limitless love of God. The prayer that calls to the church in Ephesus also calls the Christian Church to set a bigger table that surpasses our previous capacity.More than just a series of meetings\, General Assembly is a covenantal table set for education\, discussion\, worship\, business\, fellowship\, and action. Each congregation is invited to boldly claim their covenantal place at the table by inviting everyone to attend online and by prayerfully designating 3 delegates to vote at General Assembly. Meeting every year online will allow more Disciples to connect more frequently and to work together more fully “to be the church we say we are.” If you’ve never attended General Assembly before\, a special welcome is extended to you. \n\n\n\nOne and all\, individuals\, Congregations\, General Ministries\, Regional Ministries\, Ministry partners\, and friends are invited to actively participate in our new way of being church and our church wide resolve to embody and share God’s surpassing love as we gather in July. \n\n\n\nFor these reasons: \n\n\n\n\nTranslation through closed captioning will be available in 5 languages including Spanish\, Korean\, French\, English\, and Chinese\, in the hope of removing language and accessibility barriers.\n\n\n\nYou can participate at a local gathering or on your personal device in the hope of removing the barriers of geography and isolation. The tech team has worked hard to make sure that GA is accessible and to train Regional and Congregational tech leaders to ensure that they didn’t create a new digital divide within the church.\n\n\n\nThe format and schedule include a Topic for Education\, Discussion\, and Prayer and time for dialogue to move beyond brief discussion accessible only to persons that attend GA in-person to include more voices from across the whole church.

SUMMARY:Love in Action: 2026 Pentecost Offering
DESCRIPTION:On Pentecost\, the Spirit did not stay in one place. It moved outward — across languages\, cultures\, and every barrier people believed separated them. In that moment\, a new kind of community was born\, shaped by courage\, generosity\, and love. \n\n\n\nThat same Spirit is still moving today. \n\n\n\nIn a world where many people feel uncertain\, divided\, or disconnected from one another\, the Church is called to be a different kind of presence — one that reflects Christ’s compassion\, humility\, and grace. \n\n\n\nThe Prophet Micah reminds us what God asks of us: \n\n\n\n“To do justice\, love kindness\, and walk humbly with your God.” — Micah 6:8 \n\n\n\nNot just believe. \n\n\n\nNot just gather. \n\n\n\nBut to live in ways that bring healing and hope. \n\n\n\nBecause faith without justice is empty — and justice\, at its heart\, is love in action. \n\n\n\nThe Pentecost Offering helps support New Church Ministry and your Regional ministry to nurture emerging and faith communities of faith. Through these ministries\, new spaces are created where people can encounter God\, build meaningful relationships\, and serve their neighbors with compassion. \n\n\n\nYour gift helps these communities grow in neighborhoods seeking connection and hope. \n\n\n\nThank you for giving\, praying\, and helping the Spirit continue its work among us. \n\n\n\nFor Times Such as These \n\n\n\nPlease give generously to this Special Day Offering. \n\n\n\nSpecial days in the life of the church often allow us to focus our worship\, celebrations and fellowship around moments that are central to our faith. \n\n\n\nDisciples Mission Fund (DMF) Special Day Offerings provide an opportunity to highlight specific ministries as part of our faith celebrations. There are four Disciples Mission Fund Special Day Offerings received each year during Easter\, Pentecost\, Thanksgiving\, and Christmas seasons. Congregations can receive these offerings during worship or budget for a special gift\, and individuals can always designate their gift to DMF for any of these offerings.

SUMMARY:Northern Lights Regional Assembly
DESCRIPTION:“My soul is bereft of peace; I have forgotten what was happy. And I say\, “My hope is lost from the LORD.”But this I call to mind\, and therefore I have hope:The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;God’s mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”~Lamentations 3:20-23 NRSV \n\n\n\n\nAs a region made up of areas\, states\, congregations\, generational members\, and sojourners — the Northern Lights region’s resilience\, endurance\, and creativity is born of a faithful God. From its oldest congregation (incorporated circa 1868) to its newest congregations-in-formation (2024\, 2025)\, Disciples have been bolstered and inspired through their faith in knowing we are never alone. God is unwavering and constant\, never not present and in our midst. God is faithful\, always. \n\n\n\nJoin Minister of New Church Strategies Rev. Dr. Jose Martinez at this regional assembly. \n\n\n\nAs the Northern Lights region gathers over this Assembly weekend it will find old and new ways to acknowledge the valleys and be grateful for the peaks it has conquered\, find grounding in the present it is in\, and explore opportunities of a Church to come. \n\n\n\nWe will be fortunate to have powerful speakers among us: Rev. Chris Dorsey\, President and CEO of Disciples Home Missions (DHM)\, and Rev. Rebecca Hale\, Executive Vice President of National Benevolent Association (NBA). Regional Minister Paul Allen will round out the  assembly\,  preaching on Sunday morning for all congregations to hear. \n\n\n\nWe will do the business of the Church as we cover business items\, and learn about the work and dreams of our teams\, committees\, and commissions.  And\, we will usher in a new slate of regional servant leaders as our Nominating Committee puts their heads and hands together to discern needs\, to prayerfully consider the Spirit-gifts necessary to carry out these roles\, and to match needs with gifted volunteers across our Region. \n\n\n\nWe will worship together\, sing together\, learn together\, work together\, and share stories and meals. We look forward to “being Church” in person and virtually\, and we pray that our Assembly will be a joyful\, hopeful event that empowers each of us to carry out our various ministries through worship\, music\, and laughter. Hope to see you there!

SUMMARY:Sacred Resistance: Moving Disciples from the Sanctuary to the Streets
DESCRIPTION:Recently\, Disciples have been starkly reminded of our call to be a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. As the news cycle shares horrifying images and videos from the streets of Minneapolis\, Chicago\, and other cities in the United States\, Bible verses have been shared by Christians across the theological and political spectrum. Some have been used to uphold federal orders\, and others to encourage mercy\, compassion\, and welcome. Our Minister of New Church Strategies\, Rev. Dr. Jose Martinez\, joined guest panelists Rev. Dr. Jia Starr Brown and Rev. Tanya Lopez on Wednesday\, February 25 at 3:00 PM EST for the first IMPACT webinar of the year as New Church Ministry discussed what is happening and what our responses could be as Disciples of Christ. \n\n\n\nNew Church Ministry proudly presents IMPACT\, a new webinar series that welcomes you on a captivating journey of storytelling and deep mutual learning. In each episode\, host and Minister of New Church Strategies Rev. SUMMARY:Regional Gathering 2025
DESCRIPTION:2 Corinthians 4:7-9 (NRSV)7 But we have this treasure in clay jars\, so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us. 8 We are afflicted in every way but not crushed\, perplexed but not driven to despair\, 9 persecuted but not forsaken\, struck down but not destroyed. \n\n\n\n\nAcross generations\, believers have embraced the enduring love and boundless grace of God. Like clay jars\, we acknowledge the fragility of life\, yet within that fragility lies the beauty of transformation. Our brokenness does not disqualify us; instead\, it becomes the very place where God’s power is made visible. \n\n\n\nWe are restored\, repaired\, and reshaped\, entrusted to carry God’s presence with a hope that cannot be broken. As a church\, we live on the edge of renewal\, constantly being made new\, transformed into the diverse shapes\, sizes\, and colors that reflect the fullness of God’s vision for us. \n\n\n\nREGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!\n\n\n\nWORKSHOPS\n\n\n\nA variety of educational opportunities will be offered in the morning and afternoon. Minister of New Church Strategies Rev. Dr. Jose Martinez will be delivering a workshop at 1:00 PM. \n\n\n\nThe Age of Protopian Church\n\n\n\nProtopias are a middle ground between dystopias (which obviously bad) and utopias (which are perfect but unattainable and therefore demoralizing. We will explore current cultural trends that are bringing hope to the younger generation and how your congregation can leverage the trends to co-create a realistic better tomorrow. \n\n\n\nPARKING\n\n\n\nThere are several parking lots and structures located near the Disciples Ministry Center that can be found on this map. \n\n\n\nWATER REFILL STATIONS will be located throughout the venue. We encourage you to bring a refillable water bottle with you to the Regional Gathering. \n\n\n\nLIVE-STREAMED WORSHIP\n\n\n\nFor those who are unable to join us in person\, worship services at the Regional Gathering will be live-streamed on the Disciples PSWR YouTube channel. \n\n\n\nTRANSLATIONS IN SPANISH\, KOREAN AND CHINESE/MANDARIN will be available the day of the event through printed/digital programs and audio interpretation. \n\n\n\nEXHIBITORS\n\n\n\nWe encourage attendees to visit with the exhibitors\, including New Church Ministry\, before\, after\, and in between sessions of the Regional Gathering.

SUMMARY:2024 Pentecost Offering
DESCRIPTION:RESTORE AND REWIND\n\n\n\nWhen it comes to church\, we have a lot of negative tapes playing in our heads: \n\n\n\n“Church is judgmental.”“Church is hypocritical.” \n\n\n\n“They’re afraid to have fun.”“They think they’re better than everyone else.” \n\n\n\nIt’s time for restoration. Time to rewind the tapes. \n\n\n\nNew Church Ministry is dedicated to fostering faithful communities marked by deep Christian spirituality and a passion for God’s love and justice. \n\n\n\nLike our ancestors\, we’re going back to the beginning\, when new Christian communities gathered together and shared all they had\, organizing everything around the Spirit’s dreams for their lives and their communities. \n\n\n\nYesterday\, today\, and tomorrow\, God is singing a new song: not a song of judgment\, but of welcome and forgiveness; not a song of superiority\, but of humility and grace; not a song of hoarding\, but of sharing everything we have! \n\n\n\nGod’s movement for wholeness is already underway. Our job is to listen\, and learn\, and follow – supporting leaders and communities as the Spirit calls them into being\, laying down a new song for a new generation. \n\n\n\nChurch as a place of generosity and justice. Church as a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. \n\n\n\nYour gifts to the 2024 Pentecost Offering\, received in most congregations on Sunday\, May 12\, and Sunday\, May 19\, are divided equally between your regional ministry\, which supports local emerging houses of worship\, and New Church Ministry\, which trains\, equips\, assists\, and multiplies emerging and affiliating leaders to be “movement initiators.” \n\n\n\nResources\n\n\n\nPrintable Resources\n\n\n\n\n2024 Bulletin Insert\n\n\n\n2024 Poster\n\n\n\n\nGraphics\n\n\n\n\nNew Church Ministry logo (JPG)\n\n\n\nDMF logo (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 Facebook Banner (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 QR code to New Church Ministry website (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 QR code to Pentecost Offering page (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 Instagram Carousel Image 1 (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 Instagram Carousel Image 2 (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 Instagram Square Post (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 Instagram Story (PNG)\n\n\n\n\nStories to share\n\n\n\n\nDisciples church uses radical acceptance for drug misuse recovery\, support for adults with intellectual disabilities | Photo\n\n\n\nWHOSOEVER: “God did not create you to hate you” | Photo\n\n\n\nChapelle Ste-Marthe: Deep Christian spirituality and a passion for God’s love and justice in Montréal | Photo\n\n\n\n\nVideo resources\n\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Offering Playlist (for streaming)\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Video English (stream | download)\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Video English Subtitles (stream | download)\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Video Spanish (stream | download)\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Video Korean Subtitles (stream | download)\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Video French (stream | download)\n\n\n\nScripture commentary (stream | download)\n\n\n\n\nSong\n\n\n\n\nOne Heart chart (PDF)\n\n\n\nOne Heart sheet music (PDF)\n\n\n\nOne Heart instrumental (MP3)\n\n\n\nOne Heart mix (MP3)\n\n\n\nOne Heart lyric video (streaming)\n\n\n\nMusic Disclaimer: The song One Heart\, One Mind in all its material forms is being provided to you free of charge through the end of 2024.
