SUMMARY:IMPACT: Micro-Activism
DESCRIPTION:Everyone can be an activist with the guidance of Omkari Williams\, a life coach who guides readers of Micro Activism: How You Can Make a Difference in the World without a Bullhorn in identifying their “activist archetype” and mapping a personal action plan for engaging in small\, change-making activities with potentially big impacts. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn this age of social justice\, those who don’t necessarily want to lead a movement or join a protest march are left wondering\, “How can I make an impact?” In Micro Activism\, former political consultant turned activism coach Omkari Williams shares her expertise in empowering introverts and highly sensitive people to help each of us\, no matter our temperament\, find our most satisfying and effective activist role. Using Williams’s Activist Archetype tool\, readers discover their unique strengths and use this to develop a personal strategy. To ensure sustainable involvement\, Williams encourages starting small\, working collaboratively\, and beginning locally. Advice on self-care practices\, burn-out prevention\, and profiles of activists engaged in a range of activities and causes (from voter registration to craftivism\, literacy programs\, community gardens\, and more)\, provide readers with the inspiration and practical know-how needed to engage in small\, doable actions that make a lasting impact. \n\n\n\nMinister of New Church Strategies and webinar host Rev. Dr. Jose Martinez will be interviewing Ms. Williams about her work and her book of the same title in New Church Ministry‘s latest IMPACT episode. You may purchase her book here: https://www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/omkari-williams/micro-activism/9781635866889/. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIMPACT is a webinar series that welcomes you on a captivating journey of storytelling and deep mutual learning. In each episode\, Rev. Dr. Jose Martinez invites guests who have defied conventions and fostered vibrant communities of faith to share their invaluable experiences and personal narratives. By exploring the challenges\, triumphs\, and transformative moments of these visionary leaders\, attendees gain invaluable inspiration and direction for their own ventures.

SUMMARY:2024 Pentecost Offering
DESCRIPTION:RESTORE AND REWIND\n\n\n\nWhen it comes to church\, we have a lot of negative tapes playing in our heads: \n\n\n\n“Church is judgmental.”“Church is hypocritical.” \n\n\n\n“They’re afraid to have fun.”“They think they’re better than everyone else.” \n\n\n\nIt’s time for restoration. Time to rewind the tapes. \n\n\n\nNew Church Ministry is dedicated to fostering faithful communities marked by deep Christian spirituality and a passion for God’s love and justice. \n\n\n\nLike our ancestors\, we’re going back to the beginning\, when new Christian communities gathered together and shared all they had\, organizing everything around the Spirit’s dreams for their lives and their communities. \n\n\n\nYesterday\, today\, and tomorrow\, God is singing a new song: not a song of judgment\, but of welcome and forgiveness; not a song of superiority\, but of humility and grace; not a song of hoarding\, but of sharing everything we have! \n\n\n\nGod’s movement for wholeness is already underway. Our job is to listen\, and learn\, and follow – supporting leaders and communities as the Spirit calls them into being\, laying down a new song for a new generation. \n\n\n\nChurch as a place of generosity and justice. Church as a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. \n\n\n\nYour gifts to the 2024 Pentecost Offering\, received in most congregations on Sunday\, May 12\, and Sunday\, May 19\, are divided equally between your regional ministry\, which supports local emerging houses of worship\, and New Church Ministry\, which trains\, equips\, assists\, and multiplies emerging and affiliating leaders to be “movement initiators.” \n\n\n\nResources\n\n\n\nPrintable Resources\n\n\n\n\n2024 Bulletin Insert\n\n\n\n2024 Poster\n\n\n\n\nGraphics\n\n\n\n\nNew Church Ministry logo (JPG)\n\n\n\nDMF logo (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 Facebook Banner (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 QR code to New Church Ministry website (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 QR code to Pentecost Offering page (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 Instagram Carousel Image 1 (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 Instagram Carousel Image 2 (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 Instagram Square Post (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 Instagram Story (PNG)\n\n\n\n\nStories to share\n\n\n\n\nDisciples church uses radical acceptance for drug misuse recovery\, support for adults with intellectual disabilities | Photo\n\n\n\nWHOSOEVER: “God did not create you to hate you” | Photo\n\n\n\nChapelle Ste-Marthe: Deep Christian spirituality and a passion for God’s love and justice in Montréal | Photo\n\n\n\n\nVideo resources\n\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Offering Playlist (for streaming)\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Video English (stream | download)\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Video English Subtitles (stream | download)\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Video Spanish (stream | download)\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Video Korean Subtitles (stream | download)\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Video French (stream | download)\n\n\n\nScripture commentary (stream | download)\n\n\n\n\nSong\n\n\n\n\nOne Heart chart (PDF)\n\n\n\nOne Heart sheet music (PDF)\n\n\n\nOne Heart instrumental (MP3)\n\n\n\nOne Heart mix (MP3)\n\n\n\nOne Heart lyric video (streaming)\n\n\n\nMusic Disclaimer: The song One Heart\, One Mind in all its material forms is being provided to you free of charge through the end of 2024. Time to rewind the tape. \n\n\n\nYour gifts to the 2024 Pentecost Offering\, received in most congregations on Sunday\, May 12\, and Sunday\, May 19\, are divided equally between your regional ministry\, which supports local new communities of faith\, and New Church Ministry\, which trains\, equips\, assists\, and multiplies emerging and affiliating leaders to be “movement initiators.” \n\n\n\nResources\n\n\n\nPrintable Resources\n\n\n\n\n2024 Bulletin Insert\n\n\n\n2024 Poster\n\n\n\n\nGraphics\n\n\n\n\nNew Church Ministry logo (JPG)\n\n\n\nDMF logo (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 Facebook Banner (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 QR code to New Church Ministry website (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 QR code to Pentecost Offering page (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 Instagram Carousel Image 1 (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 Instagram Carousel Image 2 (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 Instagram Square Post (PNG)\n\n\n\n2024 Instagram Story (PNG)\n\n\n\n\nStories to share\n\n\n\n\nDisciples church uses radical acceptance for drug misuse recovery\, support for adults with intellectual disabilities | Photo\n\n\n\nWHOSOEVER: “God did not create you to hate you” | Photo\n\n\n\nChapelle Ste-Marthe: Deep Christian spirituality and a passion for God’s love and justice in Montréal | Photo\n\n\n\n\nVideo resources\n\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Offering Playlist (for streaming)\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Video English (stream | download)\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Video English Subtitles (stream | download)\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Video Spanish (stream | download)\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Video Korean Subtitles (stream | download)\n\n\n\n2024 Pentecost Video French (stream | download)\n\n\n\nScripture commentary (stream | download)\n\n\n\n\nSong\n\n\n\n\nOne Heart chart (PDF)\n\n\n\nOne Heart sheet music (PDF)\n\n\n\nOne Heart instrumental (MP3)\n\n\n\nOne Heart mix (MP3)\n\n\n\nOne Heart lyric video (streaming)\n\n\n\nMusic Disclaimer: The song One Heart\, One Mind in all its material forms is being provided to you free of charge through the end of 2024. SUMMARY:DisciplesNEXT: The future of New Church?
DESCRIPTION:Join New Church Ministry for a candid conversation between Rev. Dr. Jose Martinez\, Minister of New Church Strategies\, and Rev. Wesley King\, Program Coordinator. In this IMPACT webinar\, they’ll discuss how DisciplesNEXT offers a framework for church growth in a pandemic-informed context\, and how it can help set a course for the future of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. \n\n\n\nWhen the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) reached the two-decade goal of “starting 1\,000 churches in 1\,000 different ways\,” we might have relished celebrating our achievements. But 2020 was also marked by a racial reckoning\, a climate crisis\, and a global pandemic. Meanwhile\, the work of the 2020 Vision was far from complete. So\, New Church Ministry began shaping a framework for the future\, informed by the crises of the day\, yet based on Disciples fundamentals: our identity\, vision\, and mission.[1] \n\n\n\nDisciplesNEXT — which draws upon our core identity as a “movement for wholeness in a fragmented world” — strives to counter the church’s historic tendency to colonize as a means of growth. Instead\, DisciplesNEXT offers a methodology to train leaders as movement initiators that foster faithful communities; communities that exhibit the marks of the faithful church: true community\, deep Christian spirituality\, and a passion for justice. \n\n\n\nWhile this movement will\, naturally\, take many forms\, New Church Ministry aims to approach today’s challenges by equipping leaders to live into the Disciples Mission: “To be and to share the good news of Jesus Christ\, witnessing\, loving\, and serving from our doorsteps ‘to the ends of the Earth’.” \n\n\n\nTo equip Disciples movement initiators DisciplesNEXT will foster three core competencies in our leaders: Contemplative Action\, Prophetic Advocacy and Faith-Rooted Organizing. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n[1]Disciples Mission\, Vision\, and Confession

SUMMARY:How DisciplesNEXT is the future of New Church
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a candid conversation between host Rev. Dr. Jose Martinez\, Minister of New Church Strategies\, and guest Belinda R. King\, Disciples Church Extension Fund President. In this IMPACT webinar\, we’ll discuss how the new DisciplesNEXT framework is the future of New Church Ministry and how both entities can help move the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada in this direction. \n\n\n\n[1]Disciples Mission\, Vision\, and Confession

SUMMARY:2023 Leadership Academy
DESCRIPTION:At its annual Leadership Academy\, New Church Ministry gathers leaders all across regions in the United States and Canada for learning\, growing\, and community building. Our team invites undergraduate and seminary students\, individuals contemplating ministry\, those feeling “stuck” or isolated in ministry\, and clergy ready for a new way to do ministry in a changing world to join us. You do not need to be a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) to attend. \n\n\n\nRegistration is now closed. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTo equip Disciples movement initiators\, Leadership Academy will foster contemplative action\, prophetic advocacy\, and faith-rooted organizing in our leaders. These three core competencies are promoted by DisciplesNEXT\, a new framework that strives to counter the church’s historic tendency to colonize as a means of growth. Instead\, DisciplesNEXT offers a methodology to train leaders as movement initiators that foster faithful communities; communities that exhibit the marks of the faithful church: true community\, deep Christian spirituality\, and a passion for justice. \n\n\n\nLeadership Academy also includes: \n\n\n\n\nThree track sessions that allow participants to learn alongside fellow peers currently at the same stage in starting a place of worship\n\nEmerge Track – for core teams who have yet to launch a community of faith\n\n\n\nDiscerners Track – created to allow those who have ever considered what it would take to start a church to audit the Emerge Track at a discounted rate. This option is ideal for those in undergraduate institutions who may feel the call to ministry\, for our seminarians who are discerning what path God may be taking them down\, or even our ecumenical partners who may want to imagine how their ministries might be shaped by this training. Use the code DISCERN when checking out to receive 50% off the registration fee.\n\n\n\nConverge Track – for teams that have recently started a faith community\, and\n\n\n\nMultiply Track – for leaders of established congregations\n\n\n\n\n\nNEXT Talk facilitated by a keynote speaker who will address missional transformation inclusive of every stage of leadership and congregational vitality\, and\n\n\n\nLEADLabs (Learn.Explore.Actuate.Discover.Laboratories) designed to help participants imagine\, ideate\, and innovate missional concepts through interactive\, practical workshops.\n\n\n\n\nThe 2023 Leadership Academy is scheduled to take place from Tuesday\, October 24 to Friday\, October 27 and will be a hybrid event\, with the in-person portion taking place at Community Christian Church in Kansas City\, MO. \n\n\n\n\n\nSchedule\n\n\n\nDay 1\n\n\n\n\n2:00 – Registration \n\n\n\n2:30 – Opening Session and Worship\n\nIntroductions\, housekeeping\, etc.\n\n\n\n\n\n3:00 – DisciplesNEXT overview\n\n\n\n4:00 – Track Sessions\n\nEmerge\n\n\n\nConverge\n\n\n\nMultiply\n\n\n\n\n\n5:30 – Released for Dinner\n\n\n\n\nDay 2\n\n\n\n\n8:30 – Contemplative Time\n\nPrayer Labyrinth in Sanctuary\n\n\n\nCoffee/Tea\n\n\n\n\n\n9:00 – NEXT Talk\n\nKeynote speaker – Rev.
