The Pentecost Offering supports Disciples new church development. Planning, nurturing, and sustaining new congregation is part of the Disciples’ vision. This offering supports the specialized ministry of new church development through both regional and general programs. Gifts for this offering are divided equally between the region in which they’re given and the New Church Ministry.
How is the Pentecost offering used?
Each year, half of this Special Day offering stays in the local region or area where it’s collected to start and uphold new churches.
The other half is used across the United States and Canada by New Church Ministry to support the recruiting, assessing, training, and coaching of new church leaders.
Our church planters remain committed to answering God’s call… to serve their neighbors, spread the gospel, and make more Disciples.
But they need the nurturing and generous support of people like you.
Special Day Offerings
Special days in the life of the church often allow us to focus our worship, celebrations, and fellowship around moments that are central to our faith.
Disciples Mission Fund Special Day Offerings provide an opportunity to highlight specific ministries as part of our faith celebrations. There are four Disciples Mission Fund (DMF) Special Day Offerings received each year during Easter, Pentecost, Thanksgiving, and Christmas seasons. Congregations can receive these offerings during worship or budget for a special gift, and individuals can always designate their gift to DMF for any of these offerings.
