making disciples
new church ministry
We train, equip, assist, and multiply emerging and affiliating Disciples of Christ congregations and leaders from the DisciplesNEXT methodology, which strives to counter the church’s historic tendency to colonize as a means of growth..
Educational Opportunities
Our team regularly hosts events for new church pastors, movement initiators, and other leaders across the life of the Church to deepen and widen their knowledge:
Leadership Academy
Gathering leaders for learning, growing, and community building.
IMPACT webinars
Exploring visionary leaders’ challenges, triumphs, and transformative moments.
Where We Belong
New Church Ministry is a ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. Our home is at Disciples Church Extension Fund (DCEF).
DisciplesNEXT‘s Three Core Competencies
Contemplative Action
Spiritual formation, disciplines, and practices are crucial for leaders and faith communities.
Prophetic Advocacy
Transforming the lives of everyone in the community where the Church serves.
Faith-Rooted Organizing
Empowering faith communities in works of justice, compassion, unity, and reconciliation.
Every New Church Pastor Deserves Support
Our coaches walk alongside new/affiliating pastors and leaders to help them remain on track and accountable for the goals they have set for themselves and their churches.
