Water the Plants prayer call

October 3, 2023 @ 9:00 am 9:11 am EDT

Water the Plants (WtP) is a church-wide initiative that brings together 1,000 supporters to pray for emerging and affiliating congregations and their leaders on bi-monthly phone calls.

Join us in prayer

WtP gathers a group of dedicated supporters of the ministries and leaders in the New Church Movement to prioritize the spiritual discipline of prayer. Based on 1 Corinthians 3:6, “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow,” we will take a proactive approach to “watering” DOC church “plants” with prayer (Living Water).

If you are interested in participating, we ask that you commit to praying for new worship expressions in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. You will receive a Prayer List that will guide daily and weekly prayers during your own personal prayer times as well as during our Group Prayer times led by a New Church Ministry prayer leader on the phone. In addition, you will receive regular communication prayer reminders and a physical prayer reminder of your choice.

The dial-in number is (317) 829-0020. Enter 4002 followed by the # sign. Enter Participant Password 7729 (PRAY) followed by the # sign.

As part of their Covenant Agreement, intercessors are expected to:

  • embrace a lifestyle of prayer
  • regularly join a Water the Plants Prayer Group by phone for an 11-minute prayer led by a Prayer Leader
  • receive regular communication regarding additional prayer topics by email, text and/or social media
  • provide your mailing address to receive Prayerphenalia – one item of your choice that will remind you to pray (keychain or wristband).

To get started, please read and complete this form to confirm your interest or text watertheplants to 97000.

Thank you for your willingness and commitment to pray for the New Church Movement! If you have any questions, please contact us at pray@newchurchministry.org.
